In a shocking turn of events, it seems that President Joe Biden’s chances of securing re-election in 2024 are looking bleaker than a snowman in July. The Democrats are hanging onto the White House by a thread, and that thread has got its fair share of frays.
The Latino and black voting blocs, which have long been the Democrat’s go-to for reliable support, are showing signs of straying to the other side. According to a recent New York Times /Siena College poll, Trump’s popularity among black voters has surged to a whopping 22% when pitted against Biden. This is a significant jump from the 12% support he received in 2020. And as if that isn’t enough to send the Left into a tailspin, Trump is also raking in 42% of Hispanic voters in swing states, compared to Biden’s 50%. That’s a major reversal from the 32%-65% deficit Trump faced in 2020.
But hold on to your cowboy hats, folks, because it seems that these shifts are less about a permanent change in allegiance and more about the dismal state of the economy under Biden. It’s like asking someone if they’d rather eat a moldy sandwich or a rotten apple – neither option is appealing.
According to a CNN interview with Carlos Odio, senior vice president for research at Equis Research, the driving force behind Trump’s appeal to these crucial voting blocs is the economy. With inflation soaring higher than a bald eagle on the Fourth of July, it’s no wonder that voters are giving Biden’s economic policies a big thumbs down. An NBC News poll revealed that a whopping 59% of voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, while only 38% give him the nod of approval.
To make matters worse for Biden, Trump is leading the pack in the Republican presidential primary, both nationally and in early states. It’s like David versus Goliath, except this time Goliath has a really good tan and a penchant for red ties.
In a hypothetical rematch of the 2020 presidential election, Trump isn’t just holding a slight lead over Biden – he’s dominating in swing states, like a golden retriever scarfing down a freshly dropped hot dog at the state fair.
