The recent increase in gas prices is causing a major headache for President Joe Biden’s re-election hopes. The national average for a gallon of gas has skyrocketed to a whopping $3.47, and it’s not looking like it’s going to drop anytime soon. This is the first time there has been a year-over-year increase in gas prices since last December. Yikes!
But it’s not just the gas prices that are causing a stir; grocery store costs are also through the roof, thanks to inflation. Talk about sticker shock! These prices are hitting Americans hard in the wallet and leaving a bad taste in their mouths when it comes to the state of the economy.

Biden’s campaign team is trying to downplay the situation by suggesting that the president has plenty of time to win over voters before the 2024 election. Yeah, good luck with that! The White House is also claiming that they are closely monitoring the gas prices and other soaring expenses that are giving people a rough time. Well, let’s hope they’re keeping a close eye on it because the American people sure are!
Even Moody’s, a financial bigwig, is predicting trouble for Biden’s re-election if gas prices keep hanging around $3.15 per gallon. According to them, if prices creep back up to close to $4 (and they totally could!), former President Donald Trump could slide right back into the Oval Office. Now that’s a nightmare scenario for the left!
Experts are pointing fingers at all sorts of global shenanigans for the gas price surge. Russian refining attacks and tensions in the Red Sea are being blamed for the rising costs. It’s like a game of “who can we blame for this mess?” But the bottom line is, Americans are being left to foot the bill for all this chaos happening overseas.
Let’s not forget that this isn’t the first rodeo when it comes to high gas prices under Biden’s watch. Back in 2022, when gas prices topped $5 a gallon, the public’s approval of Biden plummeted faster than a lead balloon. It’s no wonder folks are feeling less than thrilled about the state of things.
At the end of the day, this all boils down to one thing – politics. Republicans are revving up their anti-Biden energy agenda and preparing to fire off a slew of bills aimed at showcasing Biden’s so-called “radical, anti-energy agenda.” They’re not holding back when it comes to placing blame on Biden for these outrageous gas prices.
