In a recent meeting that left conservatives shaking their heads, President Joe Biden tried to woo the Teamsters union at its Washington, D.C. headquarters. Biden, self-proclaimed as the “most pro-labor president in U.S. history,” is desperate for endorsements, especially after being backed by other unions like the AFL-CIO and UAW. The meeting covered topics like the Butch Lewis Act and Biden’s promises on Social Security, Medicare, and a billionaire tax proposal. Let’s just say, the Teamsters seemed less than impressed with the president’s charm offensive.
While Biden pushed the PRO Act, a socialist dream that would destroy the economy, Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien remained skeptical, pointing out that every candidate promises to support unions but then falls short. It’s no surprise that Biden’s fancy talk didn’t quite cut it for the Teamsters who are real hard-working Americans, not fans of big government meddling in their affairs. The PRO Act would tip the scales in favor of the unions, stripping away workers’ rights and hindering business growth. It’s a disaster waiting to happen, and any president backing it is clearly not looking out for the best interests of American workers.

Former President Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been building bridges with the Teamsters and other workers, winning their support by actually delivering on his promises. Trump understands the value of hard work and doesn’t just pay lip service to unions for votes. The recent donation of $45,000 to the Republican National Committee from the Teamsters’ political action committee shows a shift in union support towards the GOP, a refreshing change from the usual Democrat stronghold. It’s about time these unions woke up to the fact that conservative policies benefit workers more than liberal handouts ever will.
As the 2024 election heats up, Biden is scrambling to secure endorsements, but it’s clear that his affinity for socialist legislation like the PRO Act won’t win over hard-working Americans. The Teamsters, with their 1.3 million members, are a force to be reckoned with, and they won’t be duped by empty promises and destructive policies. It’s time for workers to stand up for their rights and reject the left’s toxic agenda. Biden may have the support of some unions, but Trump has the support of the true backbone of America – the blue-collar workers who keep this country running.
