Bill Maher, known for his bold opinions, recently stepped out of the progressive bubble to shine a spotlight on the horrors Christians are facing in Nigeria. While the left is busy shouting about Gaza and other trendy causes du jour, they have all but ignored the tragic and real genocide of Christians by Islamic terrorists in Nigeria. Since 2009, over 100,000 Christians have been slaughtered and 18,000 churches burned to ash. Yet, where’s the outrage? Where’s the student protest, the mass media coverage, the celebrity influencers wailing on social media? Crickets.
This silence is deafening. It highlights the situation we see time and time again from liberals. Their moral high ground is built on quicksand. When faced with real genocide, like what’s happening in Nigeria, they turn a blind eye. Why? Because it doesn’t fit their political narrative, which thrives on selecting causes that foster their anti-Christian sentiment or globalist agenda. They’re not interested in actual humanitarian crises unless there’s a political point to score.
For once, Bill Maher is right. One of the most horrifying yet underreported crises of our time is unfolding in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation and home to one of the largest Christian communities on the continent.https://t.co/yb0kwGX6HZ pic.twitter.com/nUCIVPdG2z

Let’s talk numbers. Genocide Watch reports that tens of thousands of Christians have been executed, which is further corroborated by Vatican News. On top of that, this carnage doesn’t just target Christians; some Muslims who defy Boko Haram’s radical vision have also fallen victim. Yet, what do our supposedly moral campus warriors focus on? Non-existent victimhood narratives. The hypocrisy is nauseating.
Meanwhile, left-wing activists love to bring up historical slavery as they wag their fingers at conservatives. Yet, when modern slavery and genocide are happening before our eyes, they are nowhere to be found. The United Nations tells us 50 million people are enslaved today. But addressing current-day atrocities like those in Nigeria doesn’t earn them the media spotlight or virtue-signaling points.
We’re forced to ask, do these activists really care about justice and human rights? Or are they willing participants in a theatrical farce where facts are conveniently ignored for ideology? Conservatives must stand tall and demand answers. When will the left confront the truth? Or will they forever cling to their selective outrage, cherry-picking issues only when politically convenient?
