Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is calling out Chicago’s weak leaders for letting crime destroy their city. He slammed Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor J.B. Pritzker for refusing President Trump’s offer to send the National Guard to help stop the violence. These Democrat politicians care more about politics than saving lives.
The numbers tell the real story about Chicago’s crime crisis. In just 233 days this year, 254 people have been murdered in Chicago. That means you can wake up every morning knowing someone will probably die that day. Meanwhile, these same leaders sit in their safe neighborhoods and do nothing.
President Trump has already proven his plan works in Washington D.C. After he sent 2,000 troops to clean up the capital, there have been zero murders for 12 straight days. Trump said Chicago will be next, and then New York. He knows how to get results when weak politicians won’t act.
The worst part is the pure hypocrisy from these Democrat leaders. About 80 percent of Chicago’s murder victims are Black Americans. If all this violence was happening in the rich white neighborhoods where Governor Pritzker lives, he would be begging Trump to send not just the National Guard but the entire military.
This shows the ugly truth about today’s Democratic Party. They claim Black lives matter, but only when it comes time to ask for votes. When Black families are actually dying every single day in Chicago, these same Democrats block the help that could save them.
Instead of welcoming federal help, Mayor Johnson and other Illinois Democrats are threatening to sue if Trump sends troops. They would rather fight Trump in court than fight crime in their streets. Governor Pritzker plans to give a speech opposing the National Guard deployment while more people get murdered.
This is all about politics for these weak Democrats. They hate Trump more than they love their own citizens. They would rather see Chicago burn than admit Trump’s tough approach to crime actually works. It is sick and wrong.
President Trump is offering to save lives in Chicago just like he did in Washington D.C. Every day these Democrat leaders say no, more innocent people will die. Americans can see who really cares about stopping crime and who just cares about stopping Trump.
