A rather dull Senate hearing with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken took an unexpected turn when a pro-Palestinian protestor decided to steal the show. Just as Blinken was about to begin his opening remarks, this guy stood up and started demanding a ceasefire in the middle of the crossfire. He was all worked up about the Geneva Conventions and how Gaza is so densely populated. Security had to remove him from the room, but not before he shouted, “Stop supporting the genocide of the people of Gaza! Ceasefire now! Save the children of Gaza!” It was quite a scene.

But the fun wasn’t over yet. Only a few minutes later, more protestors from Code Pink decided to join in on the chaos. They strategically positioned themselves right in front of the cameras that were capturing Blinken’s every move. These left-wing activists held up signs calling for a ceasefire and yelled over Blinken as he tried to speak. One woman even stood on a chair and screamed, “The U.S. is supporting a brutal massacre!” Senator Patty Murray had to intervene and suspend the hearing until the room was cleared.
Now, it’s no surprise that the left wants a ceasefire. But what’s concerning is the rise of anti-Semitism among these protestors. College campuses and major cities have become breeding grounds for this kind of hate speech. Even members of Congress like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib have been called out for their refusal to denounce Hamas, the group responsible for starting this war. It’s clear that their allegiance lies with Palestinians over Israelis.
But here’s the twist: President Joe Biden is actually supporting Israel in this conflict, despite his party’s increasingly pro-Palestinian stance. He’s standing with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s counterattacks in Gaza. And let me tell you, Israel means business. They’ve cut off food, water, and electricity to the territory, and they’re bombing Hamas like there’s no tomorrow. The White House even said that a ceasefire now would only benefit Hamas. They’re in favor of temporary pauses to allow aid to reach specific areas and to help people evacuate. But a ceasefire? Not for now.
It’s refreshing to see a president who isn’t afraid to go against his own party’s base. Biden understands that Israel has the right to defend itself, and he’s not falling for the mainstream media’s narrative that they’re the bad guys in this situation. It’s about time we have a leader who isn’t afraid to take a stand for our closest ally in the Middle East.
