In a show of liberal grandstanding, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken took center stage at the opening ceremony for a new building at the Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Virginia. Blinken couldn’t resist the opportunity to pat himself on the back as he discussed the so-called “innovative” features of the building.

In his remarks, Blinken spoke about the importance of diplomacy and the crucial role that the Foreign Service Institute plays in training our nation’s diplomats. However, it’s no surprise that Blinken failed to mention the numerous failures and missteps of the Biden administration’s foreign policy. From the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to the weak approach on China, Blinken conveniently swept these issues under the rug.
It’s clear that Blinken is more interested in appeasing his liberal base than actually fixing the problems plaguing our foreign policy. Rather than taking responsibility for the failures of the Biden administration, he chooses to focus on shiny new buildings and empty rhetoric. But the American people deserve more than just empty words – they deserve a Secretary of State who is willing to acknowledge and address the challenges facing our nation. Unfortunately, Blinken has shown time and time again that he is not up to the task.
