President Joe Biden couldn't help but tell his best Amtrak story when he went back to his home state of Delaware not long ago. Biden is said to have been close with an Amtrak conductor named Angelo Negri while he was vice president. The president said that Negri would always remind Biden of how far he had gone on Amtrak, which was more than his record of one million miles on Air Force Two.

Biden talked about the event, saying, "He grabbed my cheek and said, 'Joey, Baby!'" "They just put in the newspaper that I flew 1,200,000 miles on Air Force planes as vice president; that's something they do all the time," Biden said. "I won't quote him exactly, but he said, 'Big deal, Joey!'" I asked Ang, "What does it mean?" He then asked, "Do you know how many miles you rode Amtrak?" "No," I replied. "A million… and 320,000 miles," he said.
You might think that this touching story is just one more sign of how close Biden is to the American people. That being said, it turns out that this story is just made up. It was CNN that checked the facts and found that Biden's story just doesn't make sense. Since Negri quit Amtrak in 1993 and died in 2014, it looks like these events didn't happen when Biden said they did.
Does Biden let the truth get in the way of a good story, though? Without a doubt not. This fake story keeps coming up for him. Not long ago, he told it twice in one hour. Maybe it's just another case of his memory getting worse, or he could be just making fun of us all. This is the truth: Biden's reputation is at risk, especially when it comes to how physically and mentally fit he is for office. It might be time for the Democrats to find a new train driver to run against Biden. If they do that, they might do better in the race.
