California is at it again, folks. The state just can’t seem to get enough of coddling illegal immigrants while turning a blind eye to its struggling citizens. This time, it’s suing the Trump administration to keep taxpayer funds going to illegal immigrants—people who, by their very status, have broken the law to be here. Aren’t we supposed to prioritize American citizens first? The politicians in California seem to think otherwise.
For decades, illegal immigrants have been soaking up benefits meant for law-abiding Americans. Think about it: a mother who’s been laid off from her job can’t get aid because the system is overwhelmed, partly because resources are being thrown at people who have no legal right to be here. Yet liberals scream “cruelty” and “inhumane” when the White House finally steps in to say enough is enough. It’s not cruelty—it’s common sense.
These programs, like Head Start, were originally meant to help American families in need. The rule barring illegal immigrants simply restores the intended purpose of these initiatives. Liberals want to claim it’s about heartless Republicans being anti-immigrant, but the truth is, it’s about putting our country and its citizens first. American taxpayers shouldn’t bear the burden of supporting non-citizens, especially when many of our own are struggling.

Here’s the real problem: California and its liberal allies want open borders and unrestricted access to welfare programs for anyone who can jump a fence. It’s a slap in the face to hardworking Americans and to migrants who respected our laws to gain citizenship. The Trump administration isn’t trying to take away the American dream from anyone—it’s trying to preserve it for those who deserve it.
Why should our tax dollars fund programs that illegal immigrants use while Americans are left on the wayside? Democrats call these measures inhumane, but what’s more inhumane is robbing resources from our own people to appease a political agenda. Isn’t it time legal citizens get the resources and help they deserve? One wonders, if liberals can’t prioritize our own needs now, when will they?
