It all went down on Dec. 21 when a savvy officer spotted a 2001 Freightliner tractor pulling a utility refrigerated trailer and thought, “Hmm, something smells fishy here.” And guess what? He was right! A manifest claimed the shipment was innocent cut flowers, but our heroic officer wasn’t buying it. So, he flagged the vehicle for a closer look, leading to a nose-tingling canine search and the score of a lifetime: about 165 lbs of powdered meth, nearly 854 lbs of crystal meth, and over 165 lbs of cocaine.
The total value of this stunning haul? A jaw-dropping $10,298,520! But it’s true, according to CBP.
Of course, CBP officials couldn’t help but pat themselves on the back for this epic win. “CBP is proud of the work our front-line officers do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our communities,” said the mighty Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.
