The current climate surrounding vaccine policies seems more like a circus than a thoughtful discussion about public health. Enter Senator Bill Cassidy, a liver specialist with real-world, hands-on experience. He is righteously angry over proposed CDC guidelines to make the hepatitis B vaccine an “optional conversation” between parents and doctors. Let’s get real. When did protecting American newborns become negotiable?
The CDC’s advisory committee must have forgotten how far we’ve come. Decades ago, thousands of babies were at risk of hepatitis B. Thanks to vaccination, that number has dropped to a handful. Yet now, unelected bureaucrats think it’s a brilliant idea to roll back these protections. Have we learned nothing? This kind of shortsighted thinking does nothing but create future public health crises.
I feel this so much, and I am only a civilian. The righteous anger that should be boiling in all Americans by now…

Cassidy’s opposition isn’t just a knee-jerk reaction. Years of medical experience scream out that this change is reckless. A vaccine that saves newborns should not fall into the hands of back-alley pseudo-experts who would gamble with babies’ health. Somebody tell the CDC that unborn or newborn lives are worth protecting before an outbreak becomes their legacy.
The audacity reaches new heights when trial attorneys like Aaron Siri pretend to be vaccine authorities simply because they’ve dabbled in lawsuits against manufacturers. This is America, where facts should triumph over fearmongering and flimsy claims. Instead of prioritizing based on evidence and expert advice, the recommendation reeks of pandering to anti-vaccine sentiments.
As we stand at this crossroads, we have to ask ourselves: Do we really want to regress in our fight against infectious diseases? Surrendering to unqualified opinions and abandoning time-tested policies is how America gets weakened. Hopefully, our leaders wake up and learn to prioritize the well-being of our children over political correctness. Do we want to be a nation of strength and preparedness, or one that gambles with the next generation’s health? The choice is clear.
