Chicago’s new Democratic mayor, Brandon Johnson, is at it again. Instead of tackling the city’s real problems—like wasteful spending and runaway pension costs—he’s playing the classic liberal blame game. Now, Johnson is using former President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs as a scapegoat to justify hiking taxes on Chicago’s already overburdened residents.
It’s typical liberal hypocrisy: claim you want to protect the middle class, but reach deep into their pockets. City residents, hard-working families, and mom-and-pop businesses are bracing themselves. Johnson wants a financial transaction tax and a corporate head tax—fancy terms for more government picking at people’s pockets.
Johnson blames Trump for bringing chaos and uncertainty, yet he conveniently forgets the decades of Democratic mismanagement in Chicago. What about those soaring pension and personnel costs? It’s almost as if Johnson hopes we’ll turn a blind eye to the city’s ballooning debt while he plays political games.
Hey Chicago, is it bad enough yet? Lori Lightfoot to this.https://t.co/qyjN8lB2iw

The hypocrisy doesn’t stop there. Johnson argues these tax hikes will only hurt the wealthy and those Trump wants to protect. But when taxes rise, it’s always the little guy who feels it the most. Budget deficits are sky-high already, projected to hit over a billion dollars within just a few years!
So here we are, another Democrat turning a blind eye to fiscal responsibility. Instead of fixing broken systems, he wants to squeeze taxpayers, blaming Trump for problems Chicago’s Democrats created. Are we going to let liberal mayors and their globalist buddies wreck our cities with their failed policies and excuses?
