Matthews also took a dig at the so-called elite who have allegedly turned their backs on Biden, pointing out the apparent lack of support from figures like George Clooney and former President Obama. Despite this, Matthews expressed confidence that Biden’s tenacity and commitment to the Democratic cause will win over voters, predicting a surge in support for the President as the election draws nearer.
In the eyes of Matthews, Biden is to be seen as the emblem of the working-class Democrat, rallying support from the grassroots and, as he implied, ultimately triumphing against the odds. The narrative presented by Matthews aligns with the traditional Democratic narrative of championing the underprivileged and marginalized in society, painting Biden as a beacon of hope for those often overlooked by the elite.
