CNN Chaos: CEO Licht Loses Control, Network Implodes!

CNN has once again found themselves in a state of chaos, and as usual, it is of their own making. This time, the drama involves the future of CEO Chris Licht. News broke that Licht had been removed from overseeing the business operations of the left-wing network, indicating that David Zaslav, head of Warner Brothers Discover (which owns CNN), had lost faith in his CEO’s ability to manage the network effectively.

Things have since taken a turn for the worse, with Licht’s own employees publicly attacking him. Oliver Darcy, a CNN media reporter, wrote in his newsletter, “Reliable Sources,” that Licht “has lost the room” and his judgment has been called into serious question in the wake of a scathing article about the network’s meltdown. Darcy also noted that Licht has alienated much of the employee base and squandered the good will he had when he took helm of the network, indicating that the CEO may be running on borrowed time.

However, let’s not forget that Licht inherited a network that was already failing under the leadership of Jeff Zucker, and he was left with a workforce that was loyal to their former boss and hostile towards him from the start. Licht had a choice to make when he took over: keep the old pieces in place or clean house and start fresh. Unfortunately, he chose the former, keeping a dysfunctional host like Don Lemon on for nearly a year and making few changes to the editorial direction of the network. Licht is not responsible for the current state of things, but he is responsible for not fixing it.

The reality is that the network’s employees, including Darcy, are the ones to blame for running CNN into the ground. Instead of taking responsibility, they have chosen to attack Licht publicly while CNN remains a left-wing bastion. The network was a dumpster fire under Zucker, consistently failing in the ratings and bleeding money. Licht is just another casualty in CNN’s decline.

In the end, it seems that Licht’s tenure at CNN is coming to an end. His mishandling of the network has stirred a civil war among his own employees, and as he runs on borrowed time, it appears that the clock is ticking down on his reign as CEO.
