The left has been on a witch hunt against conservative justices, and now they’re going after Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. A recent article from The New York Times revived a three-year-old incident involving an upside-down flag at Alito’s home. This has sparked unwarranted outrage from liberal media and pundits.
The article claimed that the upside-down flag was a symbol adopted by Trump supporters contesting the outcome of the 2020 election. However, Justice Alito denied any involvement in displaying the flag, stating that his wife placed it in response to a neighbor’s objectionable language on yard signs. This explanation seems plausible given the busy schedule of the Supreme Court at that time.

The Times managed to find legal experts who criticized the flag display, saying it could sow doubt about Justice Alito’s impartiality in cases related to the election and the Capitol riot. But this is just another attempt to attack a conservative justice without any real evidence of wrongdoing.
The left-wing media even dragged some quasi-Republicans into the mix, who pretended to be upset over the incident. However, this manufactured outrage fails to hold up when considering that flying the flag upside-down has been used as a symbol by both Republicans and Democrats in the past to protest various political events.
The left’s double standard is evident in their selective outrage over the upside-down flag, as they would never criticize it if it supported their causes. But the real point here is that this is a big fat waste of time. The left’s witch hunt against conservative justices won’t succeed.
