Deadly Bondi Attack: Time to Get Tough on Radical Islam

Americans are rattled because the world is not safe from determined Islamist terror, and the deadly attack at Bondi Beach during a Hanukkah celebration showed that soft rhetoric and wishful thinking have real victims. Two gunmen opened fire on a crowded holiday event in Sydney on December 14, 2025, killing at least 15 people and wounding many more in what officials have treated as a terrorist act aimed at the Jewish community.

On Friday’s Finnerty, guest host E.D. Hill gave voice to the fear so many of us feel: when violent, radical ideology seeks out soft targets and celebrates murder, Americans deserve the straight talk our leaders often refuse to give. Newsmax has been running these hard conversations on air, and conservative voices on the network are rightly demanding clarity and action rather than euphemisms that paper over the problem.

We should be crystal clear about who the enemy is: violent Islamist extremists who embrace jihadist ideology, not the millions of peaceful Muslims who want to raise their families in safety. Religious or ideological faith is not the issue — extremist movements are — and experts shown on conservative platforms have repeatedly warned that radical rhetoric can and does translate into murderous plots and deadly attacks.

That’s why common-sense policies must follow the talk: tighter vetting, relentless intelligence cooperation with allies, more resources for local law enforcement guarding public religious gatherings, and zero tolerance for the campus and media culture that excuses or rationalizes extremist beliefs. Court filings and investigative reporting about the Bondi suspects suggested months of planning and even undetonated explosives — proof that these are organized threats that demand organized responses.

Patriots should refuse to be browbeaten into silence by those who call caution “bigotry.” We protect our communities, we stand with Jewish neighbors and all faith communities targeted by terrorists, and we demand our leaders put safety, common sense, and the rule of law ahead of political correctness. If Washington won’t act, grassroots conservatives must push for the policies that actually keep Americans safe.
