Federal immigration agents sent a clear message today in Los Angeles: our laws are not open to negotiation, regardless of the cries from the left. Despite Mayor Karen Bass’s demands for federal agents to leave, ICE and other federal law enforcement carried out one of the largest immigration sweeps ever seen in the MacArthur Park area, a known hotspot for the infamous MS-13 gang. This isn’t just enforcement; this is taking back our streets from criminals who think borders are merely a suggestion.
What’s truly outrageous is the cavalier attitude of California’s liberal elite, who continue to prioritize lawlessness over law and order. Mayor Bass’s refusal to even speak with ICE and her insistence that they pack up and leave shows a shocking disregard for the safety of American citizens. She would rather appease those who have no respect for our laws. It seems defending the indefensible is the new Democrat agenda.

The media will undoubtedly portray this as a heavy-handed approach, with activists likely flooding the airwaves with cries of injustice. They will claim this operation was disproportionate—because apparently, safeguarding our communities is only acceptable when it doesn’t upset the sensibilities of California’s liberal leadership. But let’s be honest; it’s high time someone stood up to the mob mentality that has plagued cities like Los Angeles for far too long.
It’s hard to fathom how Mayor Bass can continue to demand that federal agents leave, pretending that she holds some moral high ground while federal agents crack down on the very gangs that terrorize her own constituents. Her objections are a mockery of responsible governance, as she retreats to the safety and comfort of her political bubble, leaving ordinary Angelenos to face the chaos she fosters.
This is the kind of action we need more of—decisive, unwavering, and rooted in a commitment to America first. The question is, will liberal leaders finally wake up and support these efforts, or will they continue to wrap themselves in hypocritical rhetoric? The answer seems obvious, but one thing’s for sure—they’re running out of excuses.
