In the latest episode of misguided liberal antics, Democrat Rep. Suhas Subramanyam decided to jump on a viral social media trend known as “aura farming,” originally emerging from Indonesia. Instead of engaging in substantive actions, Subramanyam thought it a great idea to post his own “aura farming” video on TikTok. And what does this performance demonstrate? A Democrat hopelessly out of touch with the pressing needs of Americans.
The congressman shared his dance exploits while riding the United States Capitol subway system. He claimed it was all part of some grand scheme to hold the current administration accountable. Yet his critics, who hail from both sides of the political spectrum, see through the charade. What Americans genuinely want is more action and less theater from their elected representatives. It’s as if some Democrats are choosing stunts over statesmanship as the modus operandi.
Even his own progressive allies couldn’t muster enthusiasm for the performance. Some of them expressed a desire for more legislative rigor rather than these frivolous antics. The overwhelming sentiment lies in the reality that Americans crave tangible policy efforts, not politicians prancing around on social media as if they were Hollywood influencers.

There’s irony here, too. Subramanyam is scrutinized not only for his dance debut but also for recently blocking an impeachment effort against President Donald Trump. In a feeble attempt at justification, he argued that the impeachment was doomed from the start. It’s as if the demand for responsible leadership has taken a backseat to the spectacle of TikTok theatrics.
Such episodes put liberal priorities into question: Are they here to serve the people, or are they obsessed with garnering viral fame? Perhaps it’s time for liberals to trade their dance shoes for advocacy on the issues that truly matter to the American populace. Are we witnessing the degeneration of politics into social media stardom?
