After weeks of frustrating gridlock, the government shutdown is finally coming to an end, thanks to a deal reached in the Senate. But make no mistake, this is a win for President Trump and the conservative movement. Once again, Democrats have caved under pressure, highlighting their inability to stand strong when it matters most.
The wrangling had gone on long enough. For too long, hundreds of thousands of federal workers were stuck without pay, and vital services were stalled because of liberals playing politics with American livelihoods. And why? All over their beloved Obamacare subsidies. Yes, you read it right. The Democrats faced off with Republicans, putting American citizens at risk over handouts for the Affordable Care Act.
President Trump and Senate Republicans have shown true statesmanship. While the liberals were busy crying foul, the president gave our side the upper hand. The Democrats were forced to cave, agreeing to a deal that funds the government without any new spending commitments for their cherished ACA. Liberals managed to get a mere promise for a vote on the ACA next month. Who’s the winner now?

After all, they didn’t secure any long-term spending, which means they’ll likely end up back at the negotiating table in a couple of months with no real leverage. Meanwhile, the Republican-led Senate continues to put America first, pushing for sensible spending resolutions without caving to the left’s demands.
The Democrats had hoped this shutdown would hurt President Trump’s standing, but once again, their plan backfired. In fact, Trump’s tactical genius has shone through, compelling so-called “moderate” Democrats to jump ship. If the Democrats can’t hold their ground now, what hope do they have when the stakes are even higher early next year?
So, as the dust settles, ask yourself: How many more times will the Democrats fall into their own traps, and when will they finally learn from their mistakes? One thing’s for sure—today’s victory is a step forward for America, and it’s not courtesy of the Democratic outcry, but rather, a testament to the tenacity of conservative leadership.
