Four House Democrats flew to El Salvador this week to demand the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported illegal immigrant and accused MS-13 gang member. Republican Senator Eric Schmitt blasted the move as proof that liberal priorities have gone off the rails.
These lawmakers claimed Garcia’s deportation caused a “constitutional crisis.” But Garcia isn’t some innocent victim. He’s linked to the violent MS-13 gang and has a history of beating his wife. Instead of solving real problems, Democrats are wasting time defending a criminal who shouldn’t be here in the first place.
Senator Schmitt called the trip “stupidity with no end.” He asked why Democrats care more about a violent illegal immigrant than American families. MS-13 has terrorized communities across America, yet liberals fly overseas to hug a guy who represents everything wrong with open borders.
Democrats insist Garcia deserves “due process,” but they ignore the Supreme Court already ruled on his case. The Trump administration deported him after he lost in court. Now liberals pretend defending a gang member is about “saving democracy.” It’s really about putting illegal immigrants ahead of citizens.
This isn’t the first time Democrats visited Garcia. Senator Chris Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador last week for the same photo op. Republicans say it shows Democrats would rather grandstand than fix inflation or secure the border. They’re too busy virtue-signaling to address kitchen-table issues.
While Americans struggle with high prices and crime, Democrats fight to import more chaos. They weep over deported criminals but shrug when U.S. cities get overrun by drugs and violence. Schmitt nailed it: Democrats care more about illegals than the people who pay their salaries.
“This is their cause?” Schmitt asked. “A gang member who beat his wife? They’ve never cried for American communities destroyed by illegal immigration. But they’ll fly to El Salvador for a criminal’s photo op.” These priorities reveal who Democrats really represent—and it’s not you.
The 2024 election can’t come soon enough. Every time Democrats pull stunts like this, they prove they’ve lost touch with reality. Americans want safety, strong borders, and leaders who put them first—not more excuses for lawlessness. Republicans are ready to clean up this mess.
