The Democrats have finally crawled out from under their rock to acknowledge what the rest of us have known for years: Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. The so-called “exclusive” revelation comes from Chris Murphy, whose main talent seems to be chasing headlines. Let’s be clear, this isn’t some stunning insight or act of bravery. It’s just another chapter in the Democrats’ long history of ignoring the obvious until it suits their narrative.
Murphy’s desperate attempt to carve out a role for himself on the national stage reeks of opportunism. He finally admits that Biden was losing his mental faculties while in office—something we’ve all witnessed during his bumbling public appearances and inability to string together coherent thoughts. Is it shocking? Hardly. It’s more shocking it took this long for a Democrat to admit it. But Murphy, cozy in his Connecticut safe seat, can afford to play the truth-teller now that the damage is done.
What’s even more galling is the liberal hypocrisy at play here. They knew Biden wasn’t fit to run in 2024, but they pushed forward anyway, dragging their entire party into a ditch. Now they’re acting like they’re having a lightbulb moment. Please. The only reason they’re acknowledging it is because they have no leader or message to rally around anymore. Their fundraising vehicle is faltering, while their rivals have run circles around them.

The establishment Democrats ignored the warnings and went along for the ride, and spineless figures like Murphy now pretend to be shocked at the predictable wreckage. But only now, with Biden out of the picture, do they emerge to critique what they enabled. This is damage control, not courage.
Why did it take so long for the truth to come out? The answer is simple: politics first, country second. And with Biden’s political career all but over, they cry crocodile tears over their past decisions, hoping the American people will forget. Yet, just like his presidency, this mea culpa is a little too late to matter. Will anyone in the Democratic party take real accountability, or will they continue to masquerade as the party of the people while hiding their own ineptitude?
