Yet another liberal stalwart has had a wake-up call. It’s becoming harder for even the most dedicated Democrats to deny the glaring truth—Washington, D.C. has become a haven for crime. When someone from the typically left-leaning media admits as much, it’s a moment to take note of.
Of course, liberals are quick to criticize President Trump’s approach to tackling this issue, labeling it as heavy-handed. Yet, even the mainstream media can’t help but acknowledge the improvements. This is the man who promised to put America first, and that means ensuring safety in our nation’s capital. His decisive actions in D.C. are a necessary move when tragic crime rates skyrocket while career politicians dither and debate.
One might ask why the Democrats are suddenly ironing out these consequences. Perhaps they see Trump’s success as threatening to their narrative, or maybe the fear of constituents waking up to their failures has them scrambling to shift focus. They’re caught between admitting reality and sticking to their failed playbooks. When one of them steps up on a public platform to rant about the president making moves, it’s a cry of desperation masked as political discourse.

But isn’t it refreshing to see someone doing what needs to be done? Trump isn’t interested in playing games; he’s interested in results. While liberal pundits clutch their pearls over administrative tactics, fewer loiterers and improved safety around key D.C. sites are signs of hope and progress.
As the political left debates and dithers, Trump acts. Repairing what was broken by inept governance isn’t easy. But perhaps instead of criticizing, the left should ask why it is always inertia and grandstanding that define their political responses. When liberal cities suffer, it’s time for swift, decisive action to clean out the mess.
Once again, liberal incompetence rears its head. Instead of pointing fingers, why not address the root causes of progressive-mayor-run cities taking a nosedive? Their obsession with image is costing lives. Shouldn’t the citizens of D.C. be entitled to walk their streets without fear?
Democrats can shout all they want about racial undercurrents or self-government, but until they face the reality that protecting citizens comes first, Trump will be the one rolling up his sleeves. The question is, how long will it take before Democrats admit his approach works?
