The Democrats have officially shut down Homeland Security, all because they can’t stand the idea of enforcing immigration laws. Markwayne Mullin’s nomination hearing didn’t just reveal leftist tantrums—it exposed the ugly truth: the party of open borders would rather shut down the whole agency than let Americans feel safe. All this nonsense about ICE and judicial warrants is just another smoke screen to avoid holding actual criminals accountable. When did the Left decide that working for foreign interests and coddling criminal aliens mattered more than families in Oklahoma or Kentucky?
Add to that, Rand Paul’s circus act trying to block Mullin’s intro just handed even more ammo to the opposition. Instead of focusing on keeping our country secure, Paul dredged up old union beefs like we’re watching reality TV. Funny thing is, even the Teamsters boss has more sense than some of these “principled” D.C. Republicans—he’s backing Mullin, because at least someone in the room wants borders protected and laws enforced.

Mullin, for his part, isn’t mincing words: ICE will play by the book, using judicial warrants to go into homes and workplaces. Sure, it sounds fair, but let’s not kid ourselves. Democrats will never believe any Republican DHS pick. They want to pretend that demanding a warrant for every single deportation is somehow “normal”—even The Washington Post had to admit that’s impossible. That’s not about upholding justice; that’s about tying law enforcement’s hands behind their backs and turning sanctuary cities into lawless playgrounds.
And let’s talk about these so-called “negotiations.” Democrats scream about protecting their blue-haired activist base, then brag when they squeeze concessions out of a shutdown. Meanwhile, critical Border Patrol leadership is leaving, patrols are canceled, and Kristi Noem is out the door. The only folks celebrating this mess are the globalists and career swamp creatures. The average American? Left to hope the next terrorist attack isn’t on their doorstep.
What’s truly outrageous is the spectacle of Democrats holding the entire country hostage so they can virtue-signal to the far-left fringe. Airports in chaos, homeland security paralyzed, yet their priority is making ICE play even nicer while ignoring the real threats pouring over the border.
