Ro Khanna’s endorsement of Jasmine Crockett for the Texas Senate race puts on full display the Democrats’ detachment from reality. Khanna claims Crockett is the shining gem because she’s “new” and tech-savvy. It sounds like being shiny and trendy are now the top credentials for Democrats. Meanwhile, real leadership qualities and an understanding of the diverse voters in Texas take a back seat.
There’s a baffling and absurd strategy here, dismissing crucial Trump voters simply because Crockett decides they aren’t worth their time. That kind of arrogance is incredible. Texas is a stronghold of conservative values, but Democrats like Crockett think ignoring a large voter base is the way forward. This echoes the left’s broader disdain for rural, working-class, and conservative Americans.

Crockett is choosing to double down on appealing to minor factions and disillusioned voters, essentially writing off huge chunks of the populace she needs to win. Democrats believe they can win with flashy language and empty promises while dodging genuine American concerns or not engaging with Trump’s base. This is a textbook example of their failure to grasp the pulse of everyday American life.
The Democrats consistently ignore the elephant in the room—the very real concerns of millions who feel abandoned by left-wing policies that prioritize globalist, elite interests over everyday struggles. As they lean into superficial criteria like tech-savviness and ignore true bipartisan appeal, it’s clear their campaign strategies are badly misaligned.
This blatant failure to acknowledge the Texas electorate’s needs will likely come back to bite them. So here’s the question: how long can the Democratic elite keep ignoring Americans’ voices before the political house of cards finally collapses?
