The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is set to meet on Wednesday to consider President Joe Biden’s nominees, and two of them have quite the recent history of losing elections. Oh boy, here we go again with the Democrats nominating the usual losers for important roles.
First up, we have former Florida Democratic Gov. Charlie Crist, who couldn’t manage to oust Gov. Ron DeSantis in his 2022 bid for a second term. And now, he’s being considered for the U.S. representative for the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization. It’s like the Democrats are rewarding failure!

Then there’s former Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, who lost his seat to a Republican in 2022. Now he’s being considered for the U.S. representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. These Democrats just can’t seem to catch a break, can they?
But wait, it gets even better. President Biden has already pushed through the nomination of former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley as Social Security Administration commissioner, even though he failed miserably in his 2016 presidential campaign. And don’t forget about Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who couldn’t even beat Biden in the 2020 primaries but ended up endorsing him and getting a nice cabinet-level role. Talk about a consolation prize!
And if that’s not enough, there were talks of bringing in former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe into the administration, despite his loss in the governor’s mansion. I mean, come on! Can’t the Democrats find anyone with a winning track record?
But let’s not forget, Biden’s cabinet does include some former politicians with winning campaigns. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm may be the exceptions, but it seems like the Democrats are scraping the bottom of the barrel for their nominees.
It’s no wonder that Biden is being compared to his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, with his constant turnover rates. The Democrats can try to spin it however they want, but it’s clear that their nominees are a far cry from the capable and successful leaders that the country needs. And this is just another example of why the American people can’t trust the Democrats to make the right decisions for the country.
