The Department of Homeland Security’s own assistant secretary for public affairs isn’t mincing words: Democrats’ rhetoric is handing a “permission slip” to radicals who would attack law enforcement. Tricia McLaughlin warned that equating ICE and other federal agents with evil caricatures is not innocent protest but a dangerous escalation that puts officers and their families at risk.
That warning came after Democratic figures openly compared ICE to slave patrols and even the Gestapo, language that dehumanizes the people putting their lives on the line to uphold the rule of law. When elected officials normalize that rhetoric, it becomes cover for violent fringe actors who think they’re justified in taking matters into their own hands. Americans who love order and liberty should be outraged that our leaders are giving moral cover to chaos.
The problem has gone beyond words into technology: activist apps and online trackers that map ICE operations have spread across the internet, prompting legitimate safety concerns. Apple and other platforms have already pulled some of these tools after law enforcement and the Justice Department warned they could endanger agents and compromise operations. That decision reflects a sober recognition that radicalizing tools which enable doxxing and ambush are not harmless speech but real threats to public safety.
Now House Democrats, led by Rep. Robert Garcia and joined by Los Angeles officials, are openly building what they call a “master ICE tracker” to aggregate reports about federal enforcement actions. Putting a government-backed portal in the hands of activists who cheer on obstruction is reckless and shows how far the party has drifted from its duty to preserve order. This isn’t oversight so much as weaponized surveillance with a target on the backs of hardworking Americans.
Those consequences aren’t theoretical. DHS leaders and others report a surge in assaults and threats against immigration officers since this administration’s enforcement surge began, and top law-enforcement advocates are rightly sounding the alarm. Attorney General figures and state officials have condemned efforts that verge on doxxing and interference, warning of prosecutions if activists cross legal lines to obstruct federal duties. This is about protecting people who enforce our laws, not indulging virtue-signaling campaigns that endanger lives.
Patriots should call out the media and the political class that enable this madness. When mainstream outlets amplify tools or rhetoric that help radicals evade or attack law enforcement, they are not journalists — they are accomplices. Republicans and honest Democrats must demand accountability: stop the trackers, stop the doxxing, and stop pretending that undermining agents who remove dangerous criminals is noble.
If we care about safe streets and secure borders, we must defend the men and women who do the hard, unpopular work of enforcement against a rising tide of radicalism and performative politics. That means Congress and state leaders should reclaim oversight from the mob, shut down any government-enabled trackers that put officers at risk, and restore common-sense respect for law and order. America’s safety and the dignity of public service depend on it.
