This leftist view lacks reality, and it is refreshing to see a leader stand up to these ideologies.
DeSantis’s remark highlights an important truth: people are not moving to Florida for the “warmth of collectivism.” They are fleeing the stifling grip of New York’s high taxes, crime, and bloated government regulations. In stark contrast, Florida offers an environment where freedom thrives. It’s a vibrant state that embraces personal responsibility and individual success. This is the essence of America—a place where hard work is rewarded, not penalized.

The trend of New Yorkers relocating to Florida is not just a coincidence. It speaks volumes about what’s wrong with the left’s vision for America. Instead of fostering community, the left’s approach suffocates innovation and stifles economic growth. It’s absurd for an academic to think that there’s any kind of “warmth” in a collectivist society. Just look at history: countries that embraced these ideologies have seen economic collapse and violations of personal liberties. Yet, there are those among the elite who still cling to these dangerous ideas, completely disregarding the evidence around them. DeSantis nails it by trolling this notion. He shows that it’s time to call out the hypocrisy of the left, who claimed to want open arms and open hearts while they push for policies that decimate livelihoods.
