This Thursday, the House Oversight Committee will start contempt of Congress hearings against FBI Director Christopher Wray. This is a shocking turn of events. The Republican Representative Luna, who is on the committee, said that the FBI was worried about the whistleblower's safety because he or she has secret information about the Biden family. This led to the decision. If the informant's name gets out, they are said to be in grave danger of being killed.

Even scarier is that the FBI has refused to give Biden's alleged criminal bribery plan document, even though they have been asked to do so many times. The FBI's refusal to release the paper has only made people more suspicious of bias and lack of openness. This has made Republicans on the committee very angry.

Reports say that the whistleblower is a very reliable secret source for the FBI who has been involved in many investigations since Obama was in office. They say that the paper they have describes a $5 million criminal plan that Biden and a foreigner made while he was vice president.
No one is blind to how bad the situation is. A government misdemeanor called "contempt of Congress" is used when someone refuses to follow a subpoena or help with a congressional investigation. When the accused is the Director of the FBI, the situation is even worse because it calls into question the credibility of a very important national organization.
Most of the time, the process starts with the committee discussing a motion that explains why the person is in contempt. If the committee votes in favor of the motion, it goes to the House of Representatives as a whole. The House then talks about the motion, and if most members agree, the person is held in contempt. The case could then be sent to the office of the U.S. Attorney to be prosecuted.
James Comer, the Republican who is in charge of oversight in the House, has been one of the loudest people calling for the FBI to be open and answerable. During a news briefing, he said, "These are facts, and the White House or congressional Democrats can't spin or lie their way out of them."
As it stands, the fact that the FBI doesn't want to reveal who the informant is because they are afraid for their safety adds another twist to a story that is already difficult. Whether or not the FBI's worries are real, one thing is certain: the crisis surrounding Biden and his family is not going away any time soon.
