Gavin Newsom just can’t stop bragging, but California’s streets tell a different story. Year after year, he stands at the podium, throws around big promises, and insists he’s winning the war on homelessness. But who does he actually think he’s fooling? Not the millions of Californians dodging tents, trash, and needles on their way to work. Not the taxpayers forced to fork over tens of billions for so-called “solutions.” And definitely not anyone who looks at the real numbers.
Here’s the truth: under Newsom’s so-called leadership, California’s homeless population has exploded. The homeless count has soared by 60% since 2015 and shot up another 24% after he launched his grand “Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention” scheme. That’s right—more bureaucracy, bigger budgets, and still more broken lives sleeping in doorways. If Newsom’s track record is supposed to be progress, what on earth does failure look like?

And let’s not ignore how Newsom desperately spins the data. These slick politicians love playing word games. Now they talk about the “unsheltered homeless” like that’s supposed to make the crisis less outrageous. Whether someone is “unsheltered” or crammed in a makeshift motel, it’s still homelessness. But instead of fixing the problem, Newsom just juggles definitions to make himself look better. Why actually help people when you can just fudge a spreadsheet?
For those keeping score, Newsom claims a nine percent drop in one cherry-picked category—after lighting $24 billion on fire. In other words, after all the public cash wasted, California gets an embarrassing sliver of “improvement” that Newsom wants a parade for. If flushing taxpayer money down the drain counted as an Olympic sport, California would have more gold medals than homeless camps. Only progressive elites could call this a shambles “success.”
And it isn’t just homelessness spiraling. California used to lead the nation in jobs and economic growth. Now, thanks to Newsom and his leftist cronies, the state is hemorrhaging workers and running billion-dollar deficits. His solution? Throw money at consultants to polish his image, rather than tackle the crises he created. Newsom’s real legacy is empty promises, rising misery, and a state in free fall.
So, how much longer are Americans supposed to tolerate this liberal train wreck? Maybe it’s time the rest of the country paid close attention before Newsom tries to take his circus nationwide.
