He’s eyeing a seat in Congress, proving once again how the political landscape is filled with former allies turning against their own. It’s almost poetic how quickly folks can flip the script when personal ambition and liberal cheerleading get in the way.
New York City, already a bastion of leftist ideologies, is eager to welcome Conway’s new brand of conservatism, which seems to mean “not actually conservative at all.” What better place for an anti-Trump figure to try to cash in on the environment of the ultra-liberal Big Apple? It will be interesting to see how he plans to woo voters while putting distance between himself and the actual conservative values he used to represent.

The Democrats in New York City are probably jumping for joy at the thought of having someone with that much anti-Trump street cred running for office. It’s not about principles anymore; it’s about how much airtime and applause one can garner by joining the mob against the former president. Isn’t it amusing how they cherish anyone willing to bash Trump, regardless of what that individual previously stood for?
Consider the city that once embraced robust debate and individuality, now clutching onto any figure willing to badmouth our former President. How predictable and, dare we say, tiresome. Turning against Trump won’t bring back manufacturing jobs or lower taxes, yet it’s all the rage for those who have lost sight of genuine conservative values. Is this really what New Yorkers need, another voice echoing the same tired anti-Trump sentiment?
Ultimately, it’s a sad state of affairs when turning coat seems to be the most viable political strategy for some. So, while George Conway takes his steps toward a potential congressional run in New York City, one can’t help but wonder: Does the city really need another moderate parading as a savior, or does it deserve leaders committed to the actual conservative cause?
