Georgia Indictment: Liberal Smokescreen, Trump Remains Unscathed

The Georgia indictment against former President Donald Trump is a whole lot of nothing, according to legal experts at Powerline blog and Hot Air. These legal gurus have carefully combed through the 100-page document and can’t seem to find any beef, not even a measly hamburger patty. It seems that the indictment is nothing more than a liberal tirade dressed up as law. But hey, what else is new?

The indictment accuses Trump and his so-called “co-conspirators” of making false statements about voter fraud in Georgia and other states. But let’s be real here, folks. In the aftermath of the election, there were plenty of claims of voter fraud floating around, some of which turned out to be true and others that were proven false. But making false statements isn’t a crime, unless Washington has suddenly become a ghost town overnight.

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. The indictment goes on to allege that Trump and his team arranged for an alternate slate of pro-Trump electors in Georgia. Shocking, right? Well, not really. It turns out that having alternate elector slates isn’t exactly unprecedented. And guess what? It’s not illegal either. So, all those efforts to convince officials to certify these alternate slates or reverse the election results? Perfectly legal, my friends. Sorry, liberal media, but there’s no smoking gun here.

The indictment, however, tries to make a big deal out of some text messages sent by Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, requesting contact information for Pennsylvania’s Speaker and leader of the legislature. But let’s get real, folks. Trying to overturn an election result isn’t illegal. Al Gore did it, Stacey Abrams did it, and Al Franken got into the Senate by doing it. So why should Trump be treated any differently? Besides, his legal arguments were weak, but that’s not a crime. If it were, we’d have a shortage of lawyers in this country.

Now, let’s talk about the felonious allegations, shall we? Turns out, they have absolutely nothing to do with Trump. One involves a perjury allegation, while the other is about access to a voting machine. Sure, if these allegations are true, then they are crimes. But they hardly warrant the grand jury treatment. It seems like the January 6 indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith has seeped into these charges as well, with attacks on free speech. Last time we checked, asking for a review of votes or a recount wasn’t illegal, but apparently, the Democrats have a new line claiming otherwise. Go figure.

So, folks, in the end, this Georgia indictment against Trump is nothing more than political theater. It’s a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation and punish him for daring to challenge the election results. But we won’t be fooled. We know the truth. This indictment is just another example of liberal bias and a waste of taxpayer dollars. It’s time to move on and focus on the real issues facing our country.
