Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich is urging the Republican National Committee (RNC) to surrender to Donald Trump's inevitable ascent and unfurl the white flag. In an interview with Fox News, Gingrich stated that the contest for the Republican nomination is effectively over due to Trump's commanding lead in the polls and his opponents' lackluster performances in the most recent debate. According to Gingrich, none of Trump's opponents are even in the same category as the real estate magnate, and they have no chance of challenging the national establishment and enduring eight years of brutal defeats like Trump can.

Gingrich continued by describing Trump as a "phenomenon" unlike anything he had ever witnessed. Indeed, this is a high compliment coming from a man who has witnessed numerous Republican generations come and go. Gingrich believes that Trump has earned the right to skip the remainder of the nomination process and go directly to the general election, where he will face a vulnerable Joe Biden.

When queried about efforts by anti-Trump Republicans to draft Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin as a last-ditch effort to stop Trump, Gingrich issued a dire warning. It's the Trump juggernaut or four more years of the Biden administration, he said. No compromise is possible. According to Gingrich, the debates are a waste of time and will not affect the nomination of Donald Trump.
President Trump has expressed disdain for the RNC's debate format, skipping the first debate to speak with Tucker Carlson and opting to address union employees in Michigan during the second. Moreover, he has already announced his intention to skip the forthcoming third debate. Clearly, Trump has more productive things to do than participate in these futile spectacles.
In conclusion, Gingrich's message to the Republican establishment is unambiguous: board the Trump train or get set for four more years of Biden. Your choice, but according to Gingrich, there is no contest.
