Glenn Beck Sounds Alarm on Global Jihad: A New Kind of World War III

Glenn Beck is right to sound the alarm: conservative voices have been warning about the spread of a deadly, revolutionary ideology for years, and now the evidence is unmistakable. Beck’s recent program argued that we are already in a new kind of World War III, not against China but against militant Islam and the networks it has built across the globe.

The savagery of Hamas’s October 7, 2023 assault on Israel was a wake-up call the world couldn’t ignore — mass slaughter, hostage-taking, and an audacious breach of a sovereign border that demanded a response. That attack has reverberated beyond Israel and Gaza, exposing the organizational reach, brutality, and geopolitical backing that modern jihadist movements can muster.

What too many in Washington refuse to admit is that Tehran’s axis — its militias, proxies, and ideological allies — has turned regional conflicts into a global pressure point. American forces have repeatedly been forced to strike Iran-backed militia infrastructure across Iraq and Syria as those groups attacked U.S. personnel and interests; this is not abstract geopolitics, it is kinetic warfare on our people.

At sea the threat became undeniable when Houthi forces, aligned with Iran’s agenda, began attacking commercial shipping and international vessels in the Red Sea, threatening global trade lanes and international security. Those attacks forced coordinated military responses and underlined how non-state Islamist actors can choke the world economy and coerce nations without firing a single traditional battle on a map.

Meanwhile the jihadi threat is not contained to the Middle East; ISIS-K and similar groups have demonstrated their reach with brutal mass-casualty attacks and plots across Europe, and counterterrorism operations have repeatedly foiled planned atrocities. European authorities continue to uncover cells and arrests tied to transnational Islamist terror networks, proving that this is a global, transborder campaign of violence and radicalization.

Intelligence services in Western countries have warned of a “radicalization moment” after the Gaza war, with police and counterterror units reporting spikes in referrals, arrests, and online extremist material. This is not a matter of opinion; it is the sober assessment of professionals who track plots and intervene before concert halls and marketplaces become killing fields.

So what should patriotic Americans demand? First, a return to hard national security principles: ruthless disruption of Islamist terror networks, stronger cooperation with reliable regional partners, and a defense budget and posture sized to deter and dismantle proxy forces and their sponsors. We cannot cling to the false comfort that talking points and sanctions alone will shield our citizens while the enemy builds arsenals and recruits in our neighborhoods.

Second, we must secure our borders and enforce immigration policies that screen for radicalization and criminal intent, because open-door ideology without scrutiny is a dangerous liability. The Left’s reflexive defense of unfettered migration and cultural relativism plays directly into the hands of those who would exploit Western liberties to destroy them.

Finally, the media and political class must stop gaslighting the public about who our real enemies are and why they fight. This is not a clash with an entire religion; it is a war against a lethal, expansionist ideology that seeks to erase the freedoms and values that built the West — and we must fight it with clarity, courage, and conviction.
