Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is taking aim at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, accusing her of abusing her power and wasting taxpayer dollars. The fiery Georgia lawmaker filed a criminal conduct complaint, claiming that the Democrat prosecutor had a secret romantic relationship with a subordinate and used public funds to pay him handsomely.
Greene wasted no time in getting her complaint to Republican heavyweights Governor Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr, urging them to launch an investigation into Willis’ alleged misuse of her position. The complaint alleges that Willis paid special prosecutor Nathan Wade a whopping $700,000 to target former President Donald Trump and his associates.

Adding fuel to the fire, an attorney for one of Trump’s co-defendants accused Willis of carrying on a hush-hush affair with Wade and sought to have her removed from the case. This bombshell revelation led Greene to implore Governor Kemp and AG Carr to take swift action, citing that Willis’ alleged misconduct could jeopardize the entire prosecution of Trump and his allies.
Furthermore, there are rumblings that Willis may have to testify in Wade’s divorce trial, throwing yet another wrench into her already troubled legal proceedings. As if that wasn’t enough, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee is looking into whether Willis misused taxpayer resources and colluded with the Biden Justice Department to go after Trump, adding more pressure on the embattled district attorney.
To top it off, a Georgia judge has cast doubts on Willis’ ability to wrap up the case before the 2024 election, casting further shadows on the prosecutor’s credibility and effectiveness.
President Trump himself didn’t hold back, criticizing Willis for jeopardizing the case and calling her actions “illegal.” With accusations piling up and the spotlight shining ever brighter, it looks like Willis is in for a rough ride as she fights to salvage her case and her reputation.
