The White House made a big announcement on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is hitting the road on a special tour all about reproductive rights. She’s gonna be traveling around the country to talk about the importance of abortion rights. She’s aiming to fight back against what she calls “extreme attacks” on abortion rights. She will be holding a bunch of events in different states to spread this important message.

Harris is kicking off her tour in Wisconsin on a day called the “51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade.” That’s like a big day for people who support abortion rights. In a video, Harris said there’s a really big attack happening in the country against people’s ability to make decisions about their own bodies and lives. She says that there’s a big fight going on when it comes to women’s freedom to make decisions about their bodies.
During her tour, Harris plans to host events to talk about the harm caused by what she calls “abortion bans.” She is really fired up about what she calls “extremists” who are trying to ban abortion in all states and making it a crime for doctors to perform them. She’s also upset about people who are making it difficult for women to travel to get an abortion.
After Roe v. Wade was overturned, a bunch of states put in new rules to protect unborn babies. Those rules have saved about 181,000 babies in just one year. So, while Harris is out there fighting for abortion rights, there are also a lot of people who want to protect unborn babies.
