These facts do not excuse violence, but they do demand we confront the roles of substance abuse, enablers, and failed interventions that leave families exposed to catastrophe.
Conservative Americans should say plainly what this story illustrates about personal responsibility and the limits of celebrity protection. When addiction becomes an accepted family drama in elite circles, the hard consequences are often privatized until it’s too late, and taxpayers and law enforcement end up cleaning up the wreckage.
The DA’s office has noted the special-circumstance allegations could expose the defendant to life without parole or the death penalty if convicted, underscoring the gravity of the charges and the need for a thorough, no-nonsense prosecution.
