Their audacious claim is that the case should be dismissed on this basis.

According to them, it was all rainbows and unicorns until the moment Republican extremists and right-wing media started pressuring the DOJ. Apparently, these forces coerced the prosecution into abandoning a previously agreed-upon deal for two tax misdemeanors and a diversion agreement for a felony gun charge. How convenient to blame political pressure rather than face the consequences of your own actions!

To make matters even more absurd, Hunter Biden’s team has the audacity to suggest that the prosecution’s pursuit of felony charges is merely an attempt to score political points. They assert that the prosecution was initially willing to resolve the matter with probation. Really? So, the prosecution just woke up one day, scratched their heads, and thought, “Hey, let’s charge Hunter Biden with felonies instead for some political drama!” The level of delusion is truly mind-boggling.
Now let’s talk about the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. House Republicans are investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and the DOJ’s investigation into him. Conveniently, Hunter Biden is set to testify on February 28 for the impeachment inquiry. Ah, the perfect opportunity for political theater! The timing is impeccable, isn’t it? Well, it’s clear that the Republicans are doing their job of holding the Biden family accountable, and the Democrats are sweating bullets.
In an attempt to save their client from a potential 25-year prison sentence for three felony gun charges in Delaware and a 17-year prison sentence for multiple felony and misdemeanor tax charges in California, Hunter Biden’s legal team is pulling out all the stops. They are challenging the legality of the diversion agreement and asserting Second Amendment rights, all while claiming that the appointment of U.S. Attorney Weiss as special counsel is unlawful.
But here’s the inconvenient truth that Hunter Biden’s legal team conveniently ignores: the dismissal of the Delaware tax offenses and the single felony gun charge. If the prosecutors were truly after political revenge or trying to make Hunter Biden’s fate a political issue, wouldn’t they have pursued all the charges?
