The special counsel, David Weiss, is making plans to include very personal details about Hunter Biden’s struggles with drug addiction during his upcoming trial on felony gun charges. The prosecution intends to call three of Hunter Biden’s past romantic partners as witnesses, including his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, an Arkansas woman with whom he had a daughter named Lunden Roberts, and also Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden, whom he was romantically involved with.

The witnesses are expected to provide information about Hunter Biden’s possession of a revolver in 2018, stating that he kept it in his car and that Hallie Biden disposed of it in a dumpster near a grocery store in Delaware. Roberts is also expected to testify about Hunter Biden’s frequent crack cocaine use during that time.
The prosecution also plans to present videos and photographs of Hunter Biden allegedly using crack cocaine, as well as text messages between him and his friends and family members during the period when he was dealing with drug addiction and had the firearm.
The trial is scheduled to begin on June 3, and Hunter Biden’s request to dismiss the case was already rejected by a three-judge panel. His attorney has asked for reconsideration of the appeal, indicating that they are seeking to delay the trial.
Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges related to the gun and drug use and is also facing a separate federal tax case in California. A trial for the tax case is set to begin on June 20, and he has also pleaded not guilty to those charges.
