Is Ilhan Omar a defender of President Trump? Stranger things have happened, but this might just take the cake. A left-wing Squad member standing up to a disrespectful European diplomat for mocking America’s president shows a side of patriotism we don’t often see from the radical left. When it’s America versus the world, even Omar knows where her loyalty should lie, and that’s a lesson progressives ought to take to heart.
Picture this: a smug Belgian diplomat, thinking he can belittle the Congress of the greatest nation on earth because of his disdain for Trump. But guess who steps up to the plate? Not a staunch conservative, but Ilhan Omar, giving him a verbal slap-down that reminded him what respect means. Such boldness flies in the face of the usual leftist trainwreck of anti-American rhetoric. Even fellow delegation member Rep. Anna Paulina Luna was caught off guard by this unexpected act of unity.

So what gives? Is Ilhan Omar suddenly transforming into a MAGA supporter? Maybe it’s all that money piling up from sources that would make many leftists cringe. Who knows if countless dollars from industries she supposedly stands against are nudging her towards sounder, more conservative-faithful positions? Or maybe she just has a distaste for European attitudes as much as some of our finest patriots do.
The reality is, when the chips were down, Omar made a choice. She chose America over smug foreign critics. Anti-American attitudes from cheeks outside our borders deserve a firm response, and this time it came from an unexpected ally. It’s refreshing to see someone on the left exhibit some much-needed backbone when faced with foreign derision. Could we see Bernie Sanders starting to sweat over this? Only time will tell.
Chuck Schumer and his band of hypocrites have their fingers all over a government shutdown, pushing a radical agenda that puts the interests of illegals over hardworking Americans. While the left begs for open borders, folks like Omar show us that even they can prioritize the nation that gave them everything. As the strange political season unfolds, don’t discount where aiding Trump-loving patriots could surprisingly crop up next. America might just win yet.
