Two illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic just got hit with attempted murder charges for shooting a brave Border Patrol agent in New York City. Christian Aybar and Miguel Mora ambushed the off-duty officer while he sat in a Manhattan park with a woman back in July. These criminals thought they found easy targets, but they picked the wrong American hero to mess with.
The officer fought back like a true patriot when Mora pulled a gun and started shooting. Even after getting shot in the face and arm, our brave agent drew his weapon and returned fire, hitting the coward in the leg and groin. Mora had to crawl back to his getaway driver while bleeding, proving that good guys with guns can stop bad guys with guns.
These weren’t just random criminals – they were career thugs who had been stealing phones and terrorizing innocent New Yorkers all night. Both men entered our country illegally and had long criminal records that liberal politicians chose to ignore. They should have been deported long ago, but sanctuary city policies kept them on our streets.
The Biden administration released both suspects into America after they crossed our border illegally in 2022. New York City politicians then ignored federal detainer requests that would have kept these dangerous criminals locked up. Their reckless sanctuary policies put American lives at risk and nearly got a federal officer killed.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg finally did something right by bringing state murder charges against these thugs. The officer survived multiple surgeries to repair his jaw, tongue, and teeth after taking a bullet to the face. He also needed surgery on his wounded wrist, but he never gave up the fight.
Dozens of Border Patrol agents packed the courthouse to support their wounded brother when the suspects appeared in court. One coward tried to hide his head from cameras while wearing a shirt that said “Godspeed” – what a sick joke. These criminals showed no respect for American law or the officer they tried to murder.
This attack proves why we need to secure our border and end sanctuary city madness once and for all. Every illegal alien criminal walking free in America is a threat to hardworking families and law enforcement officers. We cannot let liberal politicians put their political agenda ahead of public safety.
Our Border Patrol agents risk their lives every day to protect this nation from exactly these kinds of dangerous criminals. They deserve our support and gratitude, not to be shot by the same illegal aliens they work to keep out of our country. America must choose law and order over lawlessness and chaos.
