U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have had their sixth phone call this year. Cry all you want, but it’s about time America had a leader who actually talks to the big players on the world stage. Those left-leaning apologists turn red with shame at the real leadership shown in these conversations. They forget how the world is not made of cotton candy hugs and puppy dogs. No, it’s tough, gritty, and sometimes, you’ve just got to talk to the guy they tell you not to.

Weak-kneed liberals will say this proves Trump’s a puppet dancing to Russia’s tune. Quite the opposite, actually. Trump talking to Putin shows he doesn’t play by their stale Cold War rulebook. He knows you keep your friends close but your powerful adversaries even closer. What’s better for the USA than having an unpredictable leader keeping not just Russia, but the entire world on its toes?
Meanwhile, as Trump talks sense with a world leader, his detractors whine from their plush offices, claiming he’s naive or worse. Look how they shivered under the Obama administration, while Putin paraded unchecked across the global stage. All the while, the liberal elite scratched their heads, trying to untangle their own hopelessly hypocritical policies.
Globalists tremble at the thought of a strengthened America standing tall, self-reliant, and talking directly to everyone with influence. Such conversations are where real deals are made. Liberals can hurl insults, but they don’t have solutions. Only more red tape, bureaucracy, and fear of the boogeyman who picks up the phone when Trump calls.
Trump’s willingness to set the agenda with Putin is the kind of tactical engagement that makes America strong. Instead of ducking behind alliances with shaky beneficiaries, it’s time we remind the world of our courage and resolve. Why let your enemies define the rules? Always remember, when Trump and Putin talk, America isn’t playing checkers. We’re playing chess, and winning.
