Yet, in the case of reporting on President Joe Biden’s mental acuity, it seems as though this standard might have been compromised. Critics are highlighting how some major media players, particularly those ideologically aligned with the current administration, may have shied away from pressing President Biden on issues that concerned many Americans.
As the questions surrounding President Biden’s mental fitness became louder and more impossible to ignore, the reluctance of certain media figures to address these issues stood out. This silence was striking, especially considering the moments when the president’s gaffes, his apparent confusion, and his physical mishaps were publicly visible. Despite evident signs that might warrant scrutiny, inquiries about President Biden’s health came infrequently, if at all, from some corners of the press.
There’s a critical distinction between fostering genuine concern about a sitting president’s ability to perform their duties and recklessly launching into conspiracies, and this distinction seems to have been glossed over.
