Jim Jordan Takes Aim at Judges Blocking Trump’s Agenda in Upcoming Hearings

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan is taking a stand against judges who he says are blocking President Trump’s agenda. He plans hearings next week to look into rulings that have stopped Trump’s policies, like deporting illegal immigrants. Jordan called one judge’s decision “the dumbest thing” he’s ever heard after a judge ordered deportation flights turned around.

Republicans are upset because judges have issued 15 injunctions against Trump in just two months. They argue unelected judges shouldn’t have more power than the president. Jordan says these “activist judges” are overstepping and hurting national security. He pointed out that the Alien Enemies Act gives Trump the right to deport gang members who came here illegally.

Judge James Boasberg is a big target for conservatives. He recently blocked Trump’s plan to send Venezuelan migrants back, calling it unfair. Jordan says Boasberg has a history of ruling against Trump, including during the Russia collusion investigation. Some Republicans want to impeach him, but others worry it won’t pass the Senate.

Instead of impeachment, Jordan is pushing a bill by Rep. Dar Issa to stop judges from issuing nationwide injunctions. This would limit the power of liberal judges in Democratic areas to block Trump’s policies everywhere. Jordan says it’s common sense because one judge shouldn’t control the whole country.

The hearings will focus on how judges are using their power to block Trump’s border policies. Jordan claims gangs like Tren de Aragua are flooding into the U.S. and committing crimes. He says judges who protect these criminals are putting Americans at risk. “They’re not here to be Boy Scouts,” Jordan said.

Conservatives argue Boasberg’s rulings are politically motivated. They note he attended Trump’s court cases in Washington just to watch, like a “fan girl” for the prosecution. Jordan also brought up how Boasberg went easy on an FBI lawyer who falsified documents during the Russia probe.

Despite the tough talk, impeachment is unlikely. House Republicans don’t have enough votes, and Speaker Mike Johnson knows it would fail. Instead, Jordan wants to expose what he calls “stupid” rulings and push Congress to act. He says the Founders never meant judges to have this much power.

The big picture, Jordan says, is about who runs the country: elected leaders or unaccountable judges. He vows to fight for Trump’s agenda and stop what he calls “legal sabotage” by the left. The hearings will give Republicans a chance to show voters they’re standing up to activist courts.
