In a press conference on Friday, the tenacious Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) made it clear that he’s not backing down in his bid to become the speaker of the House, despite facing opposition from some pesky Republican holdouts. With a touch of historical flair, Jordan recounted his visit to the Wright brothers’ home, marveling at the incredible progress humanity has made, from those first 100 feet of flight to landing a man on the moon. As a true patriot, Jordan believes in the greatness of our country and its people. However, he believes that doubt and uncertainty are creeping in as Americans grapple with issues like the border crisis, inflation, Middle East and Ukraine conflicts, government overreach, and rising crime rates.

In Jordan’s opinion, the American people are thirsty for change and hungry for leadership. They’ve realized that the White House can’t deliver and the Senate won’t show the way. Hence, they’re turning their hopeful eyes towards House Republicans to step up, lead, and address these crucial issues. Jordan emphasized the need to get the appropriations process moving to ensure proper funding for essential government functions, especially our military. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of getting back to committee work and continuing oversight efforts.
But here’s the catch: in order to get things done, the House needs to be open and ready for action. And to open the House, they need a speaker. Makes sense, right? So, Jordan implored his colleagues to work for the American people, fulfill their promises, and deliver on the expectations placed upon them when they were elected. It’s time to put their words into action. As the House reconvenes at 10 a.m., a third speaker vote is anticipated. Will Jordan prevail and become the beacon of change America desperately needs? Only time will tell.
