It appears someone has taken a break from reality if they think Donald Trump is solely responsible for the issues plaguing the nation today. After allegedly roaming the White House for four years—before disappearing from the presidency back in January 2021—there’s been a notable amount of finger-pointing from the left regarding everything from taxes to international conflicts. All this while somehow managing to ignore the consequences of their own policies and decisions.
The latest round of attacks comes courtesy of Kamala Harris, who, during her recent acceptance speech, meandered through the standard Democratic playbook. She claims Trump, that nefarious billionaire buddy, has been busy giving handouts to large corporations while neglecting the hardworking folks who truly need assistance. Meanwhile, her promise to magically revitalize the economy to benefit Middle America feels more like a wishful prayer than a solid plan. If turning business owners into IRS targets was the goal, then count Trump as the reigning champion of tax reform—or whatever the opposite of reform is.
Inflation? Oh, that pesky little thing has certainly been a runaway train, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that it spiked under a full Democratic administration that seems spiritually tied to printing endless cash. Harris’s idea of controlling grocery prices and tossing taxpayer dollars at first-time homebuyers would almost be laughable if it wasn’t so disheartening. The implication that the same party that rammed through stimulus checks could pull off a miracle when it comes to stabilizing the economy reeks of desperation.
Then there’s the job market. Under Trump, the unemployment rate was falling before the pandemic hit, and while that circumstance threw a wrench in things, it certainly seems that the pandemic’s aftermath has been glossed over. Instead, the talk from the left is about people juggling multiple part-time jobs, as if they would rather not look in the mirror at the real reasons why many Americans are struggling to find stable employment today.
The border situation has turned into another hot topic, with allegations flying about Trump not caring enough to secure it. Of course, reality paints a different picture; the increase in human trafficking is a shameful outcome of poor governance. Instead of addressing the complexities of border security, the focus by the left is more about political theater than actual solutions.
That Trump Fellow Who's Been President the Last Four Years Sounds AWFUL https://t.co/K8i2mgaw4T

On the global front, comparisons are being drawn that make little sense. With major conflicts brewing, all Harris can do is throw shade at Trump for not doing enough during a time when tensions were already escalating. The lack of naval presence in the Pacific under the current administration raises legitimate concerns. Is it prudent to ignore the steadily aggressive actions of China while simultaneously trying to vilify a former president? The logical gymnastics being performed here could rival an Olympic event.
While Harris may argue that her approach as president would differ greatly from Trump, it just seems to offer a recycled version of the same empty promises that have landed us where we are today. It could be concluded that passing blame is something of an art form on the left, but the reality is that governing effectively requires accepting responsibility—not deflecting it away.
