Kamala Harris has once again demonstrated that there’s little she won’t say to divert attention from her own party’s failures. While she tries to paint herself as a problem-solver, her latest advertisement reveals an astounding level of hypocrisy regarding border security—something even ABC’s Jon Karl couldn’t ignore. In a move that can only be described as an act of political acrobatics, Harris is now trying to take credit for former President Trump’s border wall, something her administration has actively tried to dismantle.
The irony is thick with Harris’s newfound appreciation for the border wall, which she previously slammed as a “racist” endeavor during her time in the Biden administration. It begs the question: does Harris truly believe voters have forgotten her past rhetoric? Under the Biden-Harris regime, efforts to secure the southern border have been largely abandoned. After promising to enforce the law, what has Harris done? Not much, aside from presiding over an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration and the resulting chaos.

In this new ad, Harris appears to be attempting a sleight of hand, showcasing images of the border wall while ignoring that her party’s policies have actively undermined border security. During their administration, Biden and Harris made a point of halting border wall construction, allowing the materials intended for it to sit idly by, costing taxpayers millions. Not only did they cease building, but their administration also began selling off these materials at a loss. So when they put that wall in their ad, it’s almost as if they’ve put a cherry on a sundae made of rotten fruit.
The contradictions don’t end there. Harris tries to position herself as a tough-on-crime prosecutor in the realm of immigration, boasting of a record that stands in stark contrast to the reality of her leadership. The fact remains that the Biden administration’s policies have emboldened human traffickers and drug cartels, fueling a dangerous environment all while Harris takes credit for nonexistent enforcement. To portray herself as a heroine of the border situation is both laughable and sad, as her policies have contributed to making the problem significantly worse.
Anyone taking a moment to watch that advertisement would likely share Karl’s incredulity. There’s a distinct lack of self-awareness from her camp when it comes to taking responsibility for the lack of security that has emerged under their watch. Harris is banking on voters ignoring the facts, but the reality is that Americans have been paying attention— and they’re not easily fooled by political theater or last-minute attempts to rebrand failed policies as successes.
