Vice President Kamala Harris, the maestro of mismanagement and disarray, apparently has a solution to the Border Crisis—after allowing over 15 million illegal immigrants to flood into the United States under President Joe Biden’s watch. It’s somewhat audacious for someone who’s played a leading role in this self-inflicted disaster to now campaign as the supposed savior. At a recent rally, Harris boldly called for a so-called “pathway to citizenship,” all while conveniently forgetting the four years of chaos she had a hand in creating.
In a move that could make any magician green with envy, Harris attempted to shift blame to former President Donald Trump. Of course, this is a recurring theme among Democrats: when things go south, it’s always someone else’s fault. According to Harris, Trump not only refuses to address the southern border crisis but also sabotaged bipartisan efforts to toughen border security. Apparently, Harris has a penchant for rewriting history, blissfully ignoring the reality that the crisis mushroomed under her administration.

This confidence might stem from her unique ability to dodge accountability, something critics have pointed out as her signature move. House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green even penned a piece emphatically criticizing her for attempting to “unburden” herself from the disastrous state of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Crucial statistics make for a compelling case that Harris’s laughable claims don’t hold water. Customs and Border Protection reported about 10 million illegal encounters nationwide and an eye-watering 8 million at the Southwest border alone. Let’s not overlook the nearly 2 million individuals who managed to slip past Border Patrol altogether since the fiscal year of 2021. These figures are an alarming reminder of the consequences of Harris’s border policies, particularly when one considers her previous assertions that “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.”
While Harris and her new running mate, as seen in a recent ad, trot out promises of hiring thousands of new border agents, one has to question the sincerity of such promises. Polls indicate that immigration remains a hot-button issue for voters, which means Democrats have no choice but to sweet-talk voters with empty commitments. Calling for a “pathway to citizenship” alongside figures like Elizabeth Warren feels more like desperate rhetoric than a viable solution to an overwhelming crisis.
As the campaign unfolds, one glaring question looms large: if Harris couldn’t manage the immigration mess for the past 3.5 years, why would anyone trust her to fix it heading into her potential presidency? With her history of language that skirts accountability and promises that ring hollow, the prospect of a Harris presidency sends shivers down the spines of many who still value secure borders and true national sovereignty.
