Vice President Kamala Harris recently staged an audio-only town hall with radio host Charlamagne tha God, the latest attempt in a long line of pandering to black voters. It appears the event was more of a chaotic comedy show than a serious political discussion; so much so that fellow conservatives deemed it “chaotic” and even “racist.” This town hall has taken social media by storm, especially after Harris made headlines for her open-mindedness toward reparations—while simultaneously insisting she grew up in the middle class.
The forum’s questions seem hand-crafted to push a specific narrative. One caller, identified as “Z,” cornered Harris by asking about her stances on reparations, all while discussing how Americans expect something in return for their unwavering loyalty to the Democratic Party for over half a century. The question emphasized that asking about specific commitments for black communities isn’t meant to sideline others; it’s about time Democrats actually deliver tangible benefits instead of campaign platitudes. Harris, however, sidestepped the inquiry, stating she’s only interested in being president for “all Americans,” which can be translated as “all Americans, unless you’re asking me for something specific.”

In a show of political gymnastics, Harris highlighted her own middle-class background while addressing economic plans, rehashing tales of her mother buying houses and insinuating that her life experience qualifies her to solve massive national issues. The irony is palpable; a woman who arose through the ranks of political elite now claims to understand the struggles of average Americans. Then again, who could expect her to ditch a classic script in the face of serious questions?
Amid the reparations debate, she declared there is a need for further “study”—an all-too-familiar tune that has been played by leftists for decades. The notion that this exploration of reparations only becomes necessary after years of demands is a red flag. Yet, in a state famously oblivious to its own history with slavery, California continues to toy with the idea, thanks to its Governor Gavin Newsom’s support. Meanwhile, other liberal bastions like New York City have jumped on the bandwagon with bills to “consider” reparations while conveniently glossing over how to fund these multi-trillion-dollar plans.
When callers transitioned to horror stories about former President Donald Trump—claiming he would throw anyone who doesn’t “look white” into camps—Harris didn’t bat an eye. She took the bait and fanned the flames, suggesting the former president’s aim is to instill fear in Americans. This kind of fearmongering harkens back to the far-left tactics of scaring voters into submission, a strategy the Democrats seem intent on using over and over again.
This whole charade comes at a pivotal moment for Harris, who is rapidly losing support among black voters—a demographic crucial for any Democrat’s chances in upcoming elections. Amidst a plethora of absolutely outrageous and unconstitutional proposals designed to “empower” black men, one has to wonder whether these plans are genuinely aimed at uplifting communities or merely political stunts dressed up as benevolence. By trying to “bribe” black men with $20,000 loans and legalization of marijuana, it seems the Democrats are more interested in playing the race card than addressing real issues.
The comedy of errors doesn’t stop there. Harris appears to believe that simply handing out cash can replace genuine engagement with the community. History has shown Democrats do well at delivering promises—right before tossing them in the trash once the votes are counted. If Harris thinks this pitiful plan is going to win her brownie points, she might want to reassess her strategy. The current trajectory shows that black Americans are waking up to the fact that these last-minute gambits are nothing more than the same tired old playbook, and they aren’t buying it this time around.
