It was a comical scene that’s all too familiar by now. President Joe Biden, caught on camera at the G7 summit, seemed to be wandering around a gathering of world leaders like someone who’s misplaced his keys. The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had to play the role of shepherd, guiding him back to the flock. But wait, this video was later confirmed to be misleading! The video was deceptively edited, cropping out skydivers and military personnel at whom the US president was looking. Is it any wonder that folks are starting to think something is a tad fishy?
Indeed, Biden’s administration often finds itself spinning tales that could rival the Brothers Grimm. The press secretary reportedly assures us that the President is sharp as a tack, but video evidence suggests otherwise. Yet, some folks try to brush such moments off. One have to wonder if they will claim these videos were sponsored by the same folks who made deep fakes of Bigfoot.
Ah, but let’s take a moment to talk about the colorful Karine Jean-Pierre. She’s undergone an interesting transformation, swapping out her earlier look for something more new age. Her appearance aside, she’s still doing her best contortionist act with the truth. At every turn, she’s front and center defending Biden’s competence, despite mounting evidence to the contrary. At one point, even the usually friendly Stephen Colbert seemed to draw a line with Biden’s debate performance. When you have comedians checking your narrative, it might be time to rethink strategy.
It must be baffling for the Democratic Party faithful to watch these ongoing performances. Some were reportedly taken aback by the version of Joe Biden that showed up for debates. While some might call these 81-year-old moments relatable, others see them as monumental and concerning. Yet, the conversation keeps getting twisted into whether or not these statements are betrayals towards Biden rather than addressing the elephant in the room—whether he is fit for the job.
