The irony is rich—as the mega-wealthy express solidarity with those facing deportation, they aren’t trading places anytime soon. Their solutions always seem to demand sacrifices from anyone but themselves.
In all seriousness, it’s easy to see why these glitzy interventions fail to resonate with the average Joe. While celebs point fingers, regular folks are just trying to get by, balancing their checkbooks while absorbing more lectures from their celeb betters who swoop in from cloud nine. It’s no wonder so many roll their eyes when Kim and her pals ride in on their social justice horses, preaching policies they can afford to mouth but not house.
